PRACTICAL GUIDE / ADVERTISING DIAGNOSIS

Why isn’t my advertising
working?

A campaign can deliver every impression it promised and still fail to bring you customers. Before changing platforms, find out where the path from ad to sale breaks down.

First, define “working.”

Are you trying to be remembered, receive qualified inquiries, book appointments, or close sales? Those outcomes need different time frames and evidence. A report of views tells you an ad was delivered; it does not tell you whether the audience wanted your offer.

Follow the customer’s path.

  1. Audience: Is the campaign reaching people who can actually buy, in the locations you serve? A large audience can spend your budget on the wrong people.
  2. Message: Does the first moment explain a problem the customer recognizes? Is the offer clear and believable?
  3. Placement and frequency: Where did the ad run, and how often could the same person see it? Ask for the actual inventory and delivery report.
  4. Destination: Does the ad lead to a page that continues the same promise and makes the next step obvious on a phone?
  5. Follow-up: Are inquiries answered promptly? Which ones were a fit, and what happened after the first contact?

Change one weak link at a time when possible. If tracking is incomplete, mark the conclusion as uncertain instead of crediting every sale to the last click or blaming every slow week on the media buy.

Who can help my business get more customers?

Look for someone who asks about your margin, customer value, geography, existing leads, and capacity before offering a channel. An effective partner should be able to explain what will be produced, where it may run, what it costs, and how the result will be reviewed. Andie brings media buying and advertising strategy together with commercial production and website and SEO analysis, so a campaign’s weak points can be evaluated together.
